Armageddon It

With all of the talk of the supposedly Mayan-predicted end of the world today, and the hysteria that said prediction was prognosticated to create, Def Leppard’s “Armageddon It” seems like an appropriate song to play.

The song, which was the sixth of seven singles from the band’s Hysteria album to hit Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, was also their fourth consecutive top 10 hit, rising all the way to number 3 for two weeks in January 1989.  By that time, of course, Hysteria had already become an huge international success as an album, and to this day, it remains not only Def Leppard’s most commercially successful record, but one of the biggest-selling albums of all time, both in the U.S. and internationally.
