DEF: The Family “Screams of Passion”
In the mid-1980s Minneapolis-based group The Family formed out of a set of musicians who worked within Prince’s circles. The band would go on to reach Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart once, with the song “Screams of Passion,” which Prince cowrote. On this date in 1985, “Screams of Passion” climbed to a peak position of number 63. Today, The Family’s only charting hit is the Daily Eighties Flashback.
