Paul Revere 1938-2014

News is circulating that Paul Revere Dick, who founded the band Paul Revere & the Raiders, passed away Saturday at the age of 76. Paul Revere & the Raiders, later known just as the Raiders, are largely remembered for their 1966 Top 5 hit “Kicks,” which is periodically remade by other acts. They are also remembered for their only number one hit, 1971’s “Indian Reservation (The Lament of the Cherokee Reservation Indian),” which addresses the historical event of the U.S. government’s forced relocation of Cherokee communities in the 1830s known as the Trail of Tears.  You can listen to both of these hits below.
