Not A Weak Chart Performance

Exactly 20 years ago, New York-based trio SWV hit number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with the third single from their debut album, It’s About Time.  That single, “Weak,” would spend two weeks at number one and would be the group’s only chart-topping hit.  It was also SWV’s second straight top 10 hit, following “I’m So Into You,” which peaked at number 6, and it would be followed by a third consecutive top 10 hit, as the next single, “Right Here (Human Nature)/Downtown,” peaked at number 2.  In 1996, SWV would score a fourth top 10 hit as “You’re The One” peaked at number 5.

After breaking up in 1998, SWV reunited in 2005, and they most recently released the album I Missed Us in 2012.
