Ursula K. Le Guin, who is broadly known for her science/fantasy fiction writing, passed away last week at the age of 88. Among Le Guin’s works is her 1985 novel Always Coming Home, which is about a fictional culture from Northern California called the Kesh. As part of a box-set version of the book, composer Todd Barton wrote an album of music and poetry, with words by Le Guin, titled Music & Poetry of the Kesh. You can hear the first track from the album, “Heron Dance,” above.
