Mr. Roboto

It wasn’t Styx’s biggest hit — that was “Babe” back in 1979 — but “Mr. Roboto” may have been Styx’s most memorable hit.  With its sci-fi motifs, the song has become a significant popular culture reference since its release, and exactly 30 years ago, it peaked at number 3 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.  The video, which can be seen above, built on the song’s imagery in clear late 1970s/early 1980s sci-fi fashion.
