Manchester, England-based band Wayne Fontana & the the Mindbenders hit Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart twice, with both appearances coming in 1965, before Fontana left the group. One of those singles, “It’s Just A Little Bit Too Late,” reached number 45, while its predecessor, “Game Of Love,” climbed as high as it could go. Exactly 50 years ago, “Game Of Love” reached the number one spot, where it would stay for one week.
