Los Angeles-based band The Turtles made sixteen appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, all between 1965 and 1969, with nine of those songs hitting the Top 40 and four reaching the Top 10. Amid that success, the band’s biggest hit was “Happy Together,” which exactly 50 years ago climbed to number one for a three-week reign.
