From the list of songs that you may have thought performed better on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart than it actually did comes the first of London-based band Squeeze‘s three appearances on the chart, “Tempted.” On this date in 1981, “Tempted” climbed to a peak position of number 49, meaning that, though it may the most remembered of the band’s three hits, it’s the only one that didn’t hit the Top 40. “Tempted” by Squeeze is, however, today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
