DEF: Roy Orbison “You Got It”

Texas-born musician Roy Orbison hit the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart nine times between 1960 and 1964. Then, after a nearly 25-year period without reaching the Top 10, just a few months following his death at the age of 52 in December 1988, Orbison’s song “You Got It” became his tenth – and to date final – Top 10 hit. On this date in 1989, “You Got It” reached a peak position of number 9, where it would stay for one week.

Roy Orbison’s “You Got It” is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
