The Kinks hit the Top 10 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart five times. Four of those hits came between 1964 and 1970. Then, thirteen years later, in 1983, the band climbed to the Top 10 one last time. Exactly 40 years ago, that final Top 10 hit, “Come Dancing,” rose to a peak position of number 6.
