Al Wilson

Exactly 40 years ago, Mississippi-born singer Al Wilson hit number 1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with “Show And Tell.”  The song, which would spend one week at the top of the chart, was not only Wilson’s only number one single; it was also his only single to hit the Top 20.  Wilson did, though, have three other Top 40 singles in his career, of which his 1968 song “The Snake” is perhaps the best known.
