DEF: Paul McCartney “Coming Up”

Following the 20 number one singles he shared as a member of the Beatles, Paul McCartney has gone on to hit number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart an additional nine times, including with Wings, as a solo artist, and in other collaborations. Six of those chart-topping singles came in the 1970s, while the remaining three hit number one in the 1980s. Exactly 35 years ago, McCartney reached number one for the first time in the 1980s when “Coming Up” rose to the top spot for a three-week run.
