DEF: Starship “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now”

After changing their name from Jefferson Starship, San Francisco-based band Starship made eleven appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, with six of those songs hitting the Top 40 and four reaching the Top 10. Of those four Top 10 hits, three climbed all the way to the top of the chart.

Exactly 30 years ago, Starship’s third chart-topping song, “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now,” which was featured in the 1987 film Mannequin, rose to number one for a two-week reign. To commemorate that anniversary, “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” by Starship is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
