Former New Edition member Johnny Gill has hit the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart three times. Those three appearances came with his first three singles from his self-titled first solo album, which was released in 1990. The biggest hit of the three was the first single, “Rub You The Right Way,” which exactly 25 years ago was in the midst of a two-week run at a peak position of number 3.
