25 Years Ago in the Nineties: Billy Idol “Cradle Of Love”

British musician Billy Idol has hit the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart nine times, most successfully with his 1987 remake of Tommy James and the Shondells’ “Mony Mony,” which spent a week at number one. Idol’s second most successful single is also the last of his nine Top 40 hits — “Cradle Of Love,” which both appeared on Idol’s album Charmed Life and was featured in the Andrew Dice Clay film The Adventures of Ford Fairlane. Exactly 25 years ago, “Cradle Of Love” was climbing to a peak position of number 2, where it would spend one week.
