When In Rome

Exactly 25 years ago, the British group When In Rome was ending its second week of a two-week peak at number 11 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with “The Promise.”  “The Promise” was the band’s only major hit, though they would also hit number 95 with their follow-up single, “Heaven Knows.”  Both songs came from their only album, which was eponymously titled.

If you don’t know the song from it’s original radio airplay in late 1988 and early 1989, you may know it from its use in the film Napoleon Dynamite.
