Terry Jacks

Winnipeg, Canada-born singer Terry Jacks hit the Hot 100 for the first time in early 1974, and exactly 40 years ago that song, “Seasons In The Sun,” hit number 1.  The song, which is an English version of the French-language song “Le Moribond,” would spend three weeks at the top of the Hot 100 chart, and it is Jacks’ biggest hit.  In fact, it’s Jacks’ only song to hit the Top 40, as his subsequent charting singles, “If You Go Away” and “Rock ‘N’ Roll (I Gave You The Best Years Of My Life),” hit numbers 68 and 97, respectively, later that same year.
