Media artist Toshio Iwai and Yamaha collaborated to design a digital musical instrument for the 21st century called the Tenori-on. The website says, “Tenori-on is a 16×16 matrix of LED switches allows everyone to play music intuitively, creating a “visible music” interface.” The technology was created almost two years ago now, but artists like Imogen Heap are actually integrating into their sound.
