Ozzy Osbourne in the Top 10

British heavy metal singer Ozzy Osbourne has had an illustrious career, including his time with Black Sabbath; his solo work; and more recently on his own television program, The Osbournes, on MTV.  Like many heavy metal artists, Osbourne’s success has historically come from album sales and not singles airplay and sales.  Still, Osbourne has released his fair share of singles over the years, and a number of them have charted on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.  Only once, though, has Osbourne hit the Top 10 – in 1989, with his duet with Lita Ford titled “Close My Eyes Forever.”  Exactly 25 years ago, “Close My Eyes Forever” peaked at number 8.

Osbourne did return to the Top 40 one more time, three years later, when “Mama, I’m Coming Home” peaked at number 28 in his only other Top 40 appearance.
