It Happened 50 Years Ago: The Mindbenders “A Groovy Kind of Love”

Both of Manchester, England-based band The Mindbenders’ two Top 40 hits reached the Top 2 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. First, in April 1965, they hit number one with “Game of Love.” Then, a little more than a year later, the band reached number 2 with “A Groovy Kind of Love.” Exactly 50 years ago, “A Groovy Kind of Love” by The Mindbenders was in its second of two weeks at its peak position of number 2.
