The Doors made seventeen appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, with eight of them reaching the Top 40 and three making the Top 10. Their biggest hit, “Light My Fire,” was their first song to appear on the chart and their first of two number one singles. Exactly 50 years ago, “Light My Fire” rose to the top of the chart for its three week reign.
