Exactly 50 years ago, California-based band The Beach Boys hit the Top 10 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart for the tenth time in their career as “Barbara Ann” rose from number 15 to a peak position of number 2, where it would spend two weeks. In addition to being the tenth of The Beach Boys’ fifteen Top 10 songs, “Barbara Ann” was also the sixth of the group’s ten Top 5 hits.
