Welsh musician Mary Hopkin made six appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, all between 1968 and 1972. The biggest hit of the bunch was her only Top 10 hit, which came with her first appearance on the chart. Exactly 50 years ago, that song — “Those Were the Days” — rose to a peak position of number 2.
