It Happened 50 Years Ago: Jr. Walker & the All Stars “Shotgun”

Arkansas-born musician Jr. Walker and his band, the All Stars, scored two Top 10 hits on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, both of which peaked at number 4. The second hit was “What Does It Take (To Win Your Love),” which reached number 4 in 1969. The first hit, “Shotgun,” made its run in 1965, and exactly 50 years ago, “Shotgun” climbed to its peak position, where it would spend two weeks.
