Eye Of The Tiger

Exactly 30 years ago today, Survivor hit number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with their first top ten hit.  “Eye Of The Tiger,” from the film Rocky III, would spend a total of six weeks at number one, making it the biggest hit of the Chicago-based band’s career.  That career would also feature four more top five hits, including, from Rocky IV, their second-biggest hit, “Burning Heart,” which peaked at number two in February 1986.

Though they haven’t hit the Hot 100 since 1989, Survivor is still, um, surviving, and they’re currently on tour.  Check out more at their official website.
