Exactly 30 years ago, Newark, New Jersey-born pop music superstar Whitney Houston climbed to number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with “How Will I Know,” her third charting single from her self-titled debut album. The song’s two-week run at the top of the chart made it the second of Houston’s record-setting seven straight singles to reach number one.
