A few days ago, Tunesmate noted that it had been 25 years since Tom Petty scored the second Top 10 hit and biggest hit of his career when “Free Fallin'” peaked at number 7 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. Exactly 35 years ago yesterday — and just one week away from being exactly 10 years earlier — Petty’s first Top 10 hit, “Don’t Do Me Like That,” reached its peak position of number 10, where it spent two weeks.
