DEF: The Honeydrippers “Sea Of Love”

Robert Plant-led all-star band The Honeydrippers reached the Top 40 with both songs they placed on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, each of which came from their only album, The Honeydrippers: Volume One. The bigger hit of the two was a remake of Phil Phillips’ “Sea Of Love” that, on this date in 1985, climbed to a peak position of number 3, where it would spend one week. Today, The Honeydrippers’ “Sea Of Love” is the Daily Eighties Flashback.
