DEF: The Frank Barber Orchestra “Hooked On Big Bands”

British composer Frank Barber’s most famous piece may be the theme song to the television show Dallas, but that’s not the composition that landed him and his orchestra their only single to reach Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. That distinction came with “Hooked On Big Bands,” which was a medley of Glenn Miller tunes that, on this date in 1982, reached a peak position of number 61, where it would spend three weeks.
