San Jose-based band the Doobie Brothers hit the Top 10 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart five times in the 1970s and 1980s, most successfully with their two number one singles, “Black Water” and “What A Fool Believes.” Exactly 25 years ago, the last of those Top 10 singles, “The Doctor,” hit its peak position of number 9, where it would spend one week.
