DEF: Starship “It’s Not Over (‘Til Its Over)”
After changing their name from Jefferson Starship to Starship in the mid-1980s, the band once known as Jefferson Airplane went on to reach the Top 10 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart four times. The first three of those songs each hit number one, as “We Built This City, “Sara,” and “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” all achieved the feat. On this date in 1987, Starship scored their fourth Top 10 single, as “It’s Not Over (‘Til It’s Over)” rose from number 11 to its peak position of number 9, where it would spend one week.
