DEF: Simple Minds “Don’t You (Forget About Me)”

Glasgow-based band Simple Minds have reached the Top 40 with five of the six singles they have placed on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, and those were their first five charting singles. Their most successful single among the five was the very first charting single — “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” from the film The Breakfast Club. On many short lists of the greatest songs of the 1980s, “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” spent one week at number one exactly 30 years ago.
