In 1985 Ronnie Milsap released his Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 album. The album contained two new songs, both of which were released as singles and both of which topped Billboard‘s Hot Country Singles chart. On this date in 1985, the second of that pair of songs, “Lost in the Fifties Tonight (In the Still of the Night), climbed to the top of the chart to begin a two-week run at number one, making it the only song in 1985 to top the country chart for more than one week.
