DEF: Prince & The Revolution “Pop Life”

One of the 1980s’ biggest popular music stars, Prince, attained huge success with his Purple Rain album, for which for the first time he featured the name of his band, the Revolution. When Prince & the Revolution released their follow-up album, Around The World In A Day, in 1985, it also did well, including spawning two Top 10 hits: “Raspberry Beret” and “Pop Life.” On this date in 1985, “Pop Life” hit its peak position of number 7, where it would spend one week.

Prince & the Revolution’s second Top 10 hit from Around The World In A Day is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
