DEF: Pink Floyd “Another Brick In The Wall Part II”

Typical of the kind of album-oriented rock that they might exemplify as much as anyone, London-based band Pink Floyd is known for many more songs than they actually placed on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. In fact, over their five decades of releasing music, Pink Floyd has only appeared on the chart five times, and only two of those singles have reached the Top 40. In 1973, “Money” peaked at number 13, and then seven years later, the band did what many AOR bands don’t do — they hit number one. Exactly 35 years ago, “Another Brick In The Wall Part II” climbed into the top spot of the Hot 100 for a four-week run.

In commemoration of that anniversary, “Another Brick In The Wall Part II” is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
