DEF: Patti Austin “Every Home Should Have One”

All six of New York City-born singer Patti Austin‘s appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 came in the 1980s, most successfully with her duet with James Ingram “Baby, Come To Me,” which reached number one. That was Austin’s second charting single. A few months before that, and on this date in 1982, Austin’s first charting single, “Every Home Should Have One,” reached a peak position of number 62, where it would spend two weeks.
