DEF: John Waite “Missing You”

Lancaster, England-born musician John Waite hit the Top 40 three times in the late 1970s and early 1980s with the band the Babys before the act broke up. Following the breakup, Waite ventured into a solo career that would lead him to three more Top 40 hits. The first and biggest of those hits, “Missing You,” is a 1980s classic that went to number one. Exactly 30 years ago today, “Missing You” rose to the top spot on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart for its solo week at number one.
