DEF: Janis Ian “Under The Covers”

New York City-born musician Janis Ian is most known for her two Top 40 hits: “Society’s Child (Baby I’ve Been Thinking),” which reached number 14 in 1967, and “At Seventeen,” which peaked at number 3 in 1975. In the 1980s, Ian reached Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart for a third time, with her song “Under The Covers,” which on this date in 1981, climbed to a peak position of number 71, where it would spend two weeks.
