Gulfport, Mississippi-born musician Gregg Giuffria’s self-named band, Giuffria, appeared on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart three times, all between 1984 and 1985. The band’s most successful single was their first charting single, “Call to the Heart,” which hit number 15 in early 1985 and was their only Top 40 hit. On this date in 1985, the follow-up single, “Lonely in Love,” climbed to a peak position of number 57, where it would spend two weeks.
