DEF: Cliff Richard “Daddy’s Home”
British musician Cliff Richard has nine Top 40 hits on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart to his name. Though his greatest success occurred between 1976 and 1980, when he scored the only three Top 10 hits of his career, his span of Top 40 hits covers more than two decades. Richards’ first Top 40 hit came in 1959, when he and the Drifters reached number 30 with “Living Doll.” Richards’ final Top 40 hit came more than 22 years later, when “Daddy’s Home” reached number 23. On this date in 1982, “Daddy’s Home” climbed into that peak position, where it would spend one week.
