DEF: Buckwheat Zydeco “Turning Point”
Louisiana-born musician Stanley Dural, Jr., a.k.a. Buckwheat Zydeco, passed away this weekend at the age of 68. Known for popularizing zydeco music, Buckwheat and his eponymous band released their first album, One for the Road, in 1979. Four years later, their 1983 album Turning Point garnered the band their first Grammy nomination. In memory of Zydeco, today’s Daily Eighties Flashback is the title track from Turning Point.
