DEF: Breathe “Hands To Heaven”

London-based band Breathe hit the Top 40 with all five of their singles that appeared on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. Interestingly, though all of these singles hit the Top 40, their peak positions were progressively lower. After peaking at number 2 with their first charting single, “Hands To Heaven,” the band hit number 3 with their next single, “How Can I Fall?” Breathe then scored a third consecutive Top 10 single when “Don’t Tell Me Lies” hit number 10. A year and a half later, off their next album, “Say a Prayer” peaked at number 21 and then “Does She Love That Man?” hit number 34.

On this date in 1988, the song that started it all, “Hands To Heaven,” hit its peak position of number 2, where it would spend two weeks. Today, it’s the Daily Eighties Flashback.
