Canadian actor Alan Thicke, who is most known for playing the father, Jason Seaver, on the television show Growing Pains, passed away yesterday at the age of 69. The theme song from Growing Pains often ranks among the most remembered television theme songs of the 1980s, and a version of it even reached number 7 on Billboard‘s Adult Contemporary chart in 1989. For half of the show’s run, the song featured a duet between B.J. Thomas and Jennifer Warnes, and in memory of Alan Thicke, that version of the Growing Pains theme song, “As Long as We Got Each Other,” is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
