Irene Cara made eight appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, with six of those songs hitting the Top 40 and three reaching the Top 10. Her biggest hit is her lone number one hit, “Flashdance  … What a Feeling” from the 1983 film Flashdance. Exactly 40 years ago, that song climbed to the top of the chart for a six-week reign.
