Dexys Midnight Runners made two appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, though only one of those songs hit the Top 40. That song — “Come On Eileen” — became a 1980s classic, as exactly 40 years ago, it rose to the top of the chart for one week, in the process also preventing Michael Jackson from becoming just the third artist in the rock era to knock themselves out of number one.
