25 Years Ago in the Nineties: Winger “Miles Away”
New York City-based band Winger, named after frontman Kip Winger, has appeared on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart six times, all between 1989 and 1991. Of those six singles, three reached the Top 40. Their biggest hit came with “Miles Away,” their second single from their 1990 album In the Heart of the Young. Exactly 25 years ago, “Miles Away” rose to a peak position of number 12, where it would spend one week.
