Birthday of the Week: David Gilmour

This week’s Birthday of the Week is David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, who turns 75 on Saturday (March 6). To commemorate his milestone, let us know your favorite song featuring Gilmour, whether from Pink Floyd or any of his other projects. My favorite is “Learning to Fly.”
Easy. That would be the song “Dogs” from Floyd’s 1977 record “Animals”. The harmonized guitar part is one of the most moving sections of music I have ever heard and the second guitar solo is absolute perfection. David Gilmour is a huge influence on me and there are myriad examples of his brilliance but this particular song stands out as one of the very best.
