The group Yaz had a hit in the 1982 with a song called “Situation” now the name Yaz is being marketed as a feminine contraception pill. The group was known as Yazoo in Britain but was shortened to Yaz in the U.S. The keyboard player Vince Clarke left Depeche Mode to join Yaz and then departed to form Erasure.
