The original Van Halen crew plus Wolf minus Michael Anthony are rumored to release a new record coming in February 2012. Today on their website, Van Halen announced details of their 2012 Tour.
Their latest album has been described by Mark Tremonti from Creed as a throwback to old style Van Halen. The rumor is the band decided to go back and revisit old material for a source of inspiration. Does this mean that Michael Anthony should have writing credits on the new album?

On July 4th, I was searching for Van Halen news and discovered the newly opened Wolfgang Van Halen Twitter account. I watched as the days went by and he constantly plugged away at responses and got into Tweeting. I am always skeptical when stars get on Twitter because quickly they become burned out. I also question whether or not the account is truly is the celebrity before the “verfied” badge gets erected on the account. Low and behold, from what I can see, the account is real and Wolfy is truly getting into Twitter.
If you are looking to get some real insight from the son of two famous parents and a top notch a rock and roll bassist, then keep your eyes of Wolf’s Twitter account. He truly does have interesting things to say!
Van Halen is poised to release a new album this fall and rumor has it a new single will be released soon. Below is a song that was recorded from the movie 1985 movie The Wild Life called “Ripley” by Eddie Van Halen. What if David Lee Roth sang vocals on this instrumental? DLR stated on his website the other day “Get Ready.” Are you ready for new VH music?
Back in February and March, Tunesmate asked you to vote on whose song titled “Dreams” was better. First, Van Halen and the Cranberries faced off. Then, Fleetwood Mac took on Gabrielle. Based on feedback, it looks like Van Halen and Fleetwood Mac were the respective winners, setting up a Title Title winners’ round between the two.

Yesterday, Marc Majers posted about Van Halen’s mid-80s hit “Dreams,” which led me to think of a new Title Title contest featuring Van Halen’s “Dreams” vs. the above song: the mid-90s’ hit “Dreams” by the Cranberries. I’d go with Van Halen’s “Dreams,” but I do like the Cranberries’ tune as well. To which song would you award the Title Title?

One of my favorite songs of all-time is “Dreams” by Van Halen from 1986. You have to just keep believing and working hard toward your dreams. Fact about the video was they were on tour so they just used some footage from the Blue Angels. The decision turned out to be a huge hit on MTV and has become an anthem for the Air Force.

I never thought it be possible, but taking the vocals from “Jump” and mixing them with the music from “Imagine” creates an interesting mashup. What do you think?

If you are going to cover a classic, you better bring it strong. Sammy Hagar and Eddie Van Halen in this clip attempt there version of Led Zeppelin’s “Rock N’ Roll” at the first Farm Aid circa 1985. Did they add something new to this classic?

Paul Gilbert is the virtuoso guitarist who fronts the 1990s-era rock band Mr. Big. You may remember their radio hit was “To Be With You”. In this clip, Paul explores combining the vocal sequence of “To Be With You” with the guitar riff from Van Halen’s “Ain’t Talking About Love”. I think you will find that his vocals may not be to the caliber of Eric Martin, however the two songs marry well together. Recently, Mr. Big reunited and released a new album called “What If”.
